Overview

A superuser is an employee or resident who has access to more than one BuildingLink account. Superusers are given a special dashboard that allows them to easily toggle between the accounts they control, whether it's a resident account, an employee account, or both. There is no limit to how many accounts can be combined together in this manner.  This article will focus on the resident superuser option.

Creating a Resident Superuser Account

To create a superuser for a resident, please email support at support@buildinglink.com

Note that existing accounts must already be created for residents so we can combine them.

To request a new resident superuser account, we need:

  • The resident's preferred username to keep. (All other usernames will be permanently removed.)
  • What specific buildings and units the resident needs access to.

To add new buildings or units to a resident superuser account, we need:

  • The resident's existing superuser username or email address.
  • What specific buildings and units the resident needs access to.

Resident Superuser Dashboard Options

From the landing page, under the Units tab, you can select to view your saved contact information and open maintenance requests at a glance for each account by checking the box for each item. Clicking the Subaccounts tab will show you a list of the units under your superuser profile.

You can edit your profile by clicking on your name at the top-right and clicking Edit profile. You can also log out of your account by clicking the Log out button here.

Accessing Units From The Resident Superuser Dashboard

You can view the specific unit profile for each of your BuildingLink accounts by expanding the SuperUser Dashboard dropdown menu at the top left and clicking on the unit profile you would like to enter.

Once you log in to a unit, you can switch to a different unit by clicking the Show SuperUser Panel button to return to your superuser dashboard and selecting it from the SuperUser Dashboard dropdown menu.
