Overview


The Payments feature allows residents to submit miscellaneous payments in the BuildingLink resident portal for processing and refunds through Stripe, an online payment processing service. This feature also provides residents with a payment history view for facilitating payment reconciliation.

Submitting Payments


If your building has enabled the ability for residents to submit payments through BuildingLink, you’ll see the option to do so right on the home page. Log in to BuildingLink and click on the Payments button in the "Building Info" section of your home page to access the "Resident Payments" page. Above the "Payments History" section, click on the Submit a new payment button.





In the "Submit a New Payment" window, you will see a form with several sections to fill out detailed below.


Resident Payment Info:

  • Resident Unit #: This field will automatically populate with your unit number.
  • Resident Name: This will automatically populate with the name attached to your account.
  • Send Email Receipt to: This field will automatically populate with the email address on file for your account, but you can replace this email address if you would like to send your receipt elsewhere.



 Payment Details:

  • Instructions: Any instructions specified for the selected payment category will display here.
  • Select a Payment Method: Methods of payment available will be presented as an option.
  • Payment Category: This required field allows you to designate your payment for a specific purpose by assigning it to a category.
  • Description: You may write a brief description of your payment in this section. The reason(s) for your payment are commonly written here.
  • Payment Amount: Input your payment amount here. If a default payment amount has been chosen for this category, the amount will automatically populate into this field.
  • Calculate Total (Button): Clicking this button will automatically calculate fees and a total amount due based on the payment amount.



The remaining portion of the payment form consists of standard payment information fields. Once you are finished filling out this form, press the gray Submit Payment button to submit your payment.



Viewing Payment History


Log in to BuildingLink and click on the Payments button in the "Building Info" section of your home page to access the "Residents Payments" page. Here you will see a history of your payments with a filter for date range. Click the blue View link on the far right of the transaction row to view and/or print a receipt.
