Overview

The Filtered Groups functionality allows you to create specialized groups of occupants based on location, custom field information, and/or occupant type. You can use filtering rules to narrow down very specific groups of residents (Ex. Pet owners in Building A who have dogs over 5 pounds.) You can then quickly and easily send emails to each specialized group.

Adding Filtered Groups

To add a new Filtered Group, click on the Manage Tab and select Filtered Groups

Click the green Add New Filtered Group button. In the following menu, you can title your filtered group (Ex. "Gym Members").

Next, you'll create the appropriate rules for your filtered group. There are three types of rules to choose from, and you can add as many as you'd like. In the Gym Member example above, you'd want to add a Custom Field filtering rule that pulls in all residents whose Gym Membership is equal to "yes" - meaning all gym members. However, if you wanted to create a group for Renters in Building A who are also gym members, you'd also add a Unit Location filtering rule (pulling in residents from Building A) and an Occupant Type filtering rule (pulling in renters). To add the appropriate rules, simply click Add Rule. Select the appropriate fields and conditions and then click Save.

Editing/Deactivating Filtered Groups

To edit/delete a Filtered Group navigate to Filtered Groups. In the Filtered Groups listing, click Edit next to the filtered group you wish to edit or delete.

To deactivate the group entirely, simply switch the Active status from "Yes" to "No."

To remove a rule associated with a Filtered Group, click the Delete icon next to the rule you wish to remove. You can also add additional rules by clicking the Add Rule button or edit any rule by clicking the Edit icon next to the rule you wish to edit. Be sure to click Save when done editing any rules.
